System Mechanic®: Full Windows 7 Compatibility

The leading PC tune-up maker now also offers 64-bit compatible versions of Search and Recover and DriveScrubber

LOS ANGELES, CA – February 25, 2009 – iolo technologies, the PC tune-up experts behind #1 best-selling System Mechanic®, announced today that the newest version of the flagship product offers complete compatibility with Windows 7, becoming the first utilities software in the market fully compatible with Microsoft’s newest operating system.

“Since 1998, iolo technologies has continually improved our award-winning PC tune-up product family to ensure that all of our 21 plus million users worldwide – including those using the new Windows 7 beta – are able to enjoy optimal computer performance,” said JJ Schoch, iolo’s VP of marketing. “As Windows 7 use skyrocketed during the past weeks, forcing Microsoft to temporarily stop the trial, we aimed to fill the void in the utilities available to the early adopters.”

iolo also announced today the immediate availability of 64-bit compatible versions of Search and Recover™ 5, its popular data recovery program, and DriveSrubber® 3, its #1 best-selling secure data removal tool. Both products are also Windows 7 compatible.

iolo technologies has been the source of innovation in the PC tune-up industry for a decade, constantly redefining and enriching the utilities field with its cutting-edge research on new causes for PC slowdowns, crashes and any mysterious malfunctions. The research capabilities and insights will be further expanded with the upcoming announcement of iolo labs, the dedicated research arm of the company.

Thanks to this decade-long ongoing focus on research, System Mechanic was repeatedly first-to-market with new features and technology innovations. In 2002 it was officially endorsed by the Microsoft Designed for Windows XP Logo program, in 2006 it became one of the first Windows Vista compatible software programs and in 2008 it led the industry as the first comprehensive program of its kind to offer 64-bit compatibility.

With its extensive collection of more than 40 different tools that fix errors, freezes and crashes, restore like-new speed and performance, and maintain overall reliability, System Mechanic 8.5 goes well beyond so-called “registry cleaners”, popularized recently by intensive and occasionally amusing advertising efforts, and offers a comprehensive solution to any slow or error-prone computer. With industry-leading and proprietary SafetyNet™ optional roll-back technology, users have trusted System Mechanic for over 10 years as both the most effective and safest tune-up product available. The software is suitable for both PC novices and experts alike and can be used in all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Windows operating system.
