System Mechanic 11: PC Magazine’s Editors’ Choice Award

Independent lab tests conclude System Mechanic improves PC performance by nearly 60 percent

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 18, 2012 – iolo technologies, recognized globally as the top source for innovative computer optimization solutions, has been honored with PC Magazine’s Editors’ Choice award for its recently released System Mechanic 11 software. This year’s accolade marks the third year in a row iolo’s System Mechanic has been recognized as the best-in-class solution for keeping computers running optimally.

During this year’s round-up, PC Magazine’s independent labs performed a series of rigorous tests on a number of products designed to deliver improved PC performance and stability. After the results were tabulated, System Mechanic 11 was recognized as the most effective solution by a significant margin of difference. Test computers saw a dramatic improvement in performance, resulting in over 58 percent faster start-up speed; nearly twice the level of improvement of any other product tested. System Mechanic also improved test machines’ GeekBench performance index average by 538 points, which was more than double the score of the nearest competitor.

As PC Magazine’s testers concluded, System Mechanic 11 “scored high marks for its top-notch tune-up capabilities, but also for its Program Accelerator (which smartly re-aligns all of a program’s dependent files on the hard drive so that the PC finds them faster), useful desktop widget (which delivers at-a-glance system information), and Whole Home Licensing (which does away with install limitations)” and “remains the Editors’ Choice.”

“System Mechanic 11 is a culmination of iolo’s 15 years of innovation and laser focus on performance optimization technology. It’s a testament to our mission of pioneering breakthrough approaches that result in tangible and measurable improvements to the overall experience of using a computer,” said Lars Oleson, executive director of product engineering at iolo technologies. “Our goal has always been to produce the most effective software on the market. With version 11’s combination of patented technology, enhanced ease of use, and expanded intelligence from iolo Labs, we’re pleased to receive objective validation that comes as a result of PC Magazine’s extensive testing. iolo’s engineering team remains committed to ensuring System Mechanic elevates new computers beyond factory limitations, and restores older machines to like-new operation.”

Introduced in 1998, System Mechanic has been used by more than 45 million people worldwide to keep over 75 million computers optimized. It remains the #1 best-selling PC tune-up software in the US, Canada, UK, France and Benelux countries according to NPD and similar sources.
